The DeLorean power mod is what you need especially if you intend to add all of our mods to your DeLorean.
Before we explain what you get, we want to explain how we got here.
we mentioned to many of our members in our online Facebook group how to do this mod over time. and some actually did it. However, many don’t have the tools or knowledge to make cables up, or electronics knowledge. Some have even tried battery eliminators, however the battery eliminator did not offer a stable noise free power and caused issues with the radio mod which we offer here also.
It was also discovered the Eaglemoss power switch is cheap and some are faulty and don't make a proper connection causing noisy power lines and a failed supply of power. Also, with no power to the car Eaglemoss's circuit board is in fact being supplied 10 milli amps of power all the time. I bet those of you building this car didn't know this. BAD EAGLEMOSS, hence why your batteries are draining even when you’re not using them.
So, what's this mod all about?
A good strong solid power supply giving 5v, and a current supply of 3 Amps for those of you that don't know 3 amps is more power than a conventional USB charger at most they offer 2amps.
We will not need anywhere near 3 amps, but we have it, and its best to have more than not enough. Some of our members did this mod using a 1500mah supply. This is not guaranteed for future mods. A cheap power supply will just give u issues later.
Mods need power. And with future issues such as roof lights. Flux band lights. Mr fusion. And other mods that we alone are making, we have to consider if they are ALL ON THE SAME TIME.
Batteries will only work with the flux and tree mod for a set time before they need replacing.
A battery eliminator will work for the tree and flux. But for the radio and future mods it WILL NOT.
We are working with Eaglemoss circuit board that has been designed around the cars current requirements and cables inside that only need a set amount of current. New mods need more current and so new cables and links are needed.
So what’s in the box?
5v 3amp power supply, with international attachments. Which has a lead of 1.5 meters. Yes, it works in your country. And no, you won't need a plug adaptor. That's Great did you just say. A smile on your face. That's right. 😊
You will also get an additional 3-meter extension cable for all of you whom have a plug that's tucked away and just need that extra space. YES 3 METERS. Good news if you want to make it longer let us know it’s possible. No loss of power too. Doc would be proud.
You will receive the adaptor connector end that goes into the car and the new power links that will replace the power links already in the car that you will find in issue 30 onwards. The power link has 2 features that Eaglemoss's cable does not.
Power to the front and back of the car. Mods that need power to the dashboard or front of your car will now have a cable ready. The radio is an example of power needed at the front, No more long power cables to the car.
Additional power leads at the back. No more extension leads. It’s there for you. Arduino lovers u have more power links. 😊
WAIT. I have to take my car apart??
Did u just ask me that. Well yes kind of you do. unless you have just started the build and you up to issue 30 then no.
But understand this, the car technically comes in 3 parts. A bottom frame with all the wires. The centre parts with the centre Console, dash, flux etc, the roof and frame.
This mod took takes all of 10 minutes to do, you need is an 8mm drill bit and it's that's easy...
Making this mod available for everyone is better. And ensures our mods will give you the power you need now and later.
Special thanks to one of our customers MarvelPhx who created a step by step installation guide to this product which can be found here along with a complete build guide to his model.
You’re not just buying a product, you’re buying a piece of magic to bring your model to life and we both bring that very unique and personal service to you. when you shop with us you deal only with us, from start to finish right upto the packaging and shipping.
When you order our mods, you can be confident that every thought has gone into them from the initial design right up to to the final manufacture and packaging.
The equipment we use is of the highest quality from our form 2; 3d printer right down to the temperature-controlled soldering iron and electrical test equipment, and because electronics are involved safety is our utmost priority, all our circuit boards are tested vigorously for long periods of time before they are sent out.
Although we already make certain mods, we do customers requesting to customise certain mods which we are more than happy to do, and because we make everything ourselves quality control is very high.
You know, there should be an award for what you and Corrie are doing. You’re really breaking new ground in the modeling industry. There may be the unique modeler who can customize a kit, but you’re allowing the average modeler to have something truly special. We’ve been modeling for close to 60 years, and have never seen anything like it. The complexity, attention to detail and quality in design and materials goes so far above and beyond that we are just in awe. Kudos to those of you who are producing these outstanding mods. Hope and Mike
Chloe & Corrie
Hi, we are Chloe and Corrie, the creators of all you see here today.
Both of us have been building models for some time now, but we both realised that most models on the market seem to be in-accurate or just need that little bit of magic to make it come to life, that’s why we decided to join forces and setup this shop you see today.
We offer bespoke modifications for models of all types including those you see in our shop, we design and make all of our mods and kits ourselves from 3d printing right down to the electronics, and we can tailor our products to your individual needs. Everything you see in our shop is unique and personal and if there is something you need and we don’t have it, I’m sure we can help you.
